At My Second Coming

"Now Before I Come"

I know you've heard of wars in distant lands,
And now they knock and rattle at your door;
Your melting hope slips trembling to the floor,
Your heart, faint-struck, can scarcely bear demands.

You’ve seen the signs; you wonder if it’s vain
To toil and weep and wait for what is right.
But do not sit contented in the night;
Break forth, arise, and shatter sorrow’s chain.

I see the work: My gospel’s voice made known,
The faithful laboring while others fall;
The day shall come with tears from great and small,
And you, My child, shall reap what you have sown.

Once sounds the trumpet calling forth the dead,
Justice shall roar and Mercy lift her head.

"For I Shall Come"

Just like the lightning, all shall see and hear,
My return shall shake both earth and sky.
The pride of men shall falter, low they lie,
And kingdoms great shall tremble in their fear.

With mighty force, those kings shall be brought low,
Yet those who humble hearts shall rise in grace.
The mountains break, and valleys find their place,
While paths of peace in splendor softly grow.

From nations' night, the righteous rise like dawn,
Their voices loosed, no longer bound in pride.
All tongues will sing my name, none can deny.
For where I tread, pure rivers shall flow on.

No grave shall bind you; death shall taste no more
With me, my children rise, and live, restored.
